The Friends of Petit-Goave is a non-profit organization that wants its legacy to be of hope and pursuit of self-fulfillment in everyone within its reach. The ultimate hope is that those who benefited from FPG programs will, one day, leave to their children and future generations a legacy forcing them to strive for the very best that life has to offer.

Since it has been incorporated, the Friends of Petit-Goave organization has been involved at different levels in the Petit-Goavian community

Three times a year, volunteers from Miami, Boston, Germany and Montreal meet under the FPG banner to provide free medical cares to less fortunate Petit-Goavians.

In 2004, the Dorcilus Elementary School  (EDM), was founded in an attempt to help alleviate illiteracy in the community.  EDM is also has an adult learning center open to whomever is interested in continuing or even starting the learning adventure.
